Eastern Ohio FINALLY got a thaw and after looking at my new(used on ebay) DFX siting on a shelf for the past two weeks I was anxious to try it out. Of course i was hoping for silver around my 1920's house but i guess i'll have to get past all the trash and learn my machine first. Anybody know what the aluminum "whatizit" is above the quarter? I believe the spoon is a toy aluminum, only markings i can find are "made in usa" ..Thanks for havin a look! The Redwinged Blackbirds are back yeah!!!!!

welcome fellow ohioan, nice digs. my sites are still frozen in just yet. that aluminum piece almost looks like the bridge from a pair of glasses. keep up the good work.

Jerry Welcome to TNET. Love those red wing blackbirds.

i can't see it at that angle really well, but it almost looks like an old bottle opener. of course it looks like a bridge for glasses to me as well.

not sure what the whatzit is but looks like a nice hunt to me ;) congrats on the finds ;D

Welcome and congrats!!!!!

Once you get over the learning curve with that dfx you;ll be digging lots of good finds..hh..Panz

Welcome to the forum. Looks like a fun day of hunting to me! Looking forward to your first ring post!

welcome to the forum!! I am sure there are older coins there. Just keep looking!

Those redwings make a great gumbo. Use to hunt them in the rice fields in S.E.Texas. Congrats on the DFX. There a different animal but once you learn it, it's awesome.

Welcome to you Ohio MDing from another ohioan in South Western Ohio.

Happy Hunting.

Good nice first finds...PS: I always find something I can't figure out what it is.

the aluminum whatzit looks like chicken blinders to keep them from pecking eachother

Jerry, it is really GREAT to see you back on and posting on the forum! Was hoping you'd be back, now you need to be a regular again. :) Onward and upward with that DFX. It's a good machine. I have used one briefly, but have spent more time (several hunts) with the XLT. Now I'm swingin an F-75. Welcome back, friend.

Every Good Wish,

Buck
