Ohio Weekend Finds

It snowed over the weekend so I got the shovel out and dug the artifacts out of the ground. My first drill and square knife? Thanks for the look.

The daggers in the top of the pic were unexpected. I kept the first one out of couriosty, And when I found the second in the same spot. Well they were too sharp and similar in design to ignore as plain rocks. Those plus the other pieces kept me from collecting a lot of bunk rocks. It is supposed to be mostly frozen and COLD in the next few days. I have a cave that needs attention, and if the weather stays nasty, I will venture there---and keep you posted my friends!!! Good dig. Sounds like you have arrowhead fever? digging frozen ground. I have some caves I need to get started on as well. Do you have any dig pictures?

The ground was not frozen when I dug. And I have only taken one pic so far of my finds at the farm. But I plan to dig again on friday when the temps will be above 40. I use a edging shovel, and cut out a 30x12 inch area about 6 inchs in depth. Then I slice the sod in half, and then flip the two pieces of sod out of the gound. I then use a dull steak knife to check the hole. And then I check the two pieces of sod. And flip them back into the hole. Here is pics of a point I found. And also pics of the cave with a test hole showing a charcoal line. I should be able to dig in and around the cave as the soil is almost moisture free. PM me SOHIO. I live in Adams Co.
