Ok, so here's the scenario...Help? *UPDATE*

Hey everone. Hopefully you can help me out a little bit, but here's the story...Today I took a buddy of mine to cash his check and while he was in the bank I asked him to pick me up some coins and gave him $1000. So he got me all cwr, $400 in dimes and $600 in quarters. After the bank closed and I got home, I opened all the dimes and got 3 silver Rosie's, but then I moved on to the quarters, and not only did I get skunked, but EVERY roll was 2 quarters short. Some of the rolls have account numbers on them which is a *requirement* in case something like this happens I'm assuming, but 90% of the rolls don't have anything. I'm a little angry that some lowlife would purposely short his rolls before dumping them and do you think the bank would refund me the $30 I am short? What should I say to them? Anything would help, and I know there are some great people on here with vast knowledge, so let me know!

Thanks & HH,
Cody.

Well, Yesterday I went in as soon as they opened, and to my surprise, they were polite as can be. The head manager listened to what I had to say and took me over to the teller that sold me the rolls and they fully refunded me for what I was short. It's nice to see a bank like that.

By failing...do you mean you killed ants????

I can think of nothing worse. ANT KILLER!!!!!

:whip2:

Yup. Dead ants, dead ants, dead ants.
It could'a been worse though. I had been thinking about goat farming but didn't want to dig such big holes.

Re: Ok, so here's the scenario...HELP?

Plus I think the authorities are notified when they find 300 dead goats piled up.

I've always wanted an ant farm.

go back to the bank...they will be happy to give back $30!! Dont pay Donald Trumps mortgage when the man can afford it.

Easy Button: that was easy

"Chalk up the $30.00" LMAO what terrible fucking advice that was.

Awesome. That is the next best thing to have not had the problem to begin with. Glad to hear that it worked out.

The only possible harm done is that that branch might implement a formal or informal policy to not sell CWR anymore. That is just empty speculation though.

Turn that $30 ASAP. It might be lucky.

You were right. I decided to go get dimes today. 4 boxes gave me 13 silver rosies which is great compared to what I usually pull!

If every roll was over by 2 quarters, would you keep the $30 profit or pass it on to the next guy?

I've had plenty of rolls that were over before, like Gilmore said, it's a cycle and pass it on. Besides, it's not even entirely about the money but more about the principle. If I buy coins, I expect there to be what I paid for. And it's not like it was 1 coin here or there...I was $30 short.

You played it exactly correct. :icon_thumleft: All you could do was mention it to the bank and hope they refund the money you were shorted. In many cases they will.

However, had they not given you the refund, the worst possible thing you could have done would be to "pass it on" to the next guy as suggested. As you yourself said, "...it's not even entirely about the money but more about the principle..." I agree 100%. If, God forbid, you get mugged tomorrow and some thug steals $30 from you, that it no way gives you the right to mug someone else and steal $30 from them.
