So, I have been researching these buttons on and off for months now. I gave up a little while back but recently I stumbled upon something that made me go back to doing research. The buttons are brass shanks. The front has an artillery image, a crown and fleur de lis. I want to say they are French.

I have a couple buttons from the late 1800's made by Trelon, Weldon and Weil in Paris. While browsing online, I came across an image of a military button made by this company with similar marks seen on the back of my "mystery" buttons. On the back of the unidentified buttons, there is a stamp of an anchor and a flaming bomb which is in the photo I found online as well. The problem is, my buttons do not have the T. W. & W. mark. I have uploaded images of the unidentified buttons. Any help would be greatly appreciated. They measure just under 3/4" diameter.

I hope that wasn't too confusing lol....

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard miniangel! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

I agree with Tom's assessment, these are relatively modern buttons.
Based on the back design, which is very similar to our Canadian WWI General Service buttons, I'd say your buttons date post-1920.

Here's one I found in 2016,
Dave

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. I didn't think they were pre-WWI. As I mentioned in my original post, I have seen the same hallmarks on buttons by Trelon Weldon and Weil. I have some of their buttons dating from the 1860's-early 1900's. They were in business until the 1970's but I have never seen very modern buttons with those marks. I was almost sure they weren't military and had considered blazer buttons. I just wanted to see if anyone had any more information than I had. Thanks again for responding.

One last thing. This is an image I found with similar marks (the anchor and flaming bomb). That is really what started me looking into these buttons again. B6261B (1).JPG
