✅ SOLVED Old Brass Item. Gun Part?

We dug this while digging arrowheads along the Brazos river in Texas. I think it is the part of an old pistol that holds the ram rod?

Anyone have a clue if I'm right or any other info? I'm pretty much guessing.

That's pretty much exactly it. That's what I thought it was. It has a number stamped into it. Hard to make out but you should be able to see it in the pics.

Just looked it up, that is a awesome find, looks to be the holder closest to the trigger... :icon_thumleft:
