Greetings mfc,

I believe that may be a pipe/cable locator. The company is still going strong and may be able to assist you: Pipe Locator Index

Isn't that an old BFO type detector?

Fisher M-70 (metalert). Do not know when it was first manufactured or when they were discontinued but I know they were available in the early 70's. It was originally designed as an industrial detector but was also used for coins etc.

I have a copy of the manual and sales brochure.
