Well I got out today again this time with some friends and family. The house we got invited to was a old farm stead built around 1880's or later. I don't think I did to bad over there till my BH went dead and no batterys to spare. After about 3 hrs of hunting around the yard I found 18 pennys Memorial 3 dimes and 1 Wheaty 1915 which was deep around 10" and the others 3+. Does anybody now about cache hunting and where to look at. Why I ask? Well where I found the wheaty I did find some mason jar lids and lots of glass and nails. My BH was going nuts and I couldn't find it. I dug a hole about 3ft wide and 1 ft deep and still no luck. Over all I had a good time.

Pic #1 is the tree I found about 15 pennys and the 3 dimes at.
pic# 2 is the old tree that I dug forever and found that 1 wheaty and mason jars and glass + square nail.
Pic # 3 the loot.

Great job. I though I found my first cache yesterday, but it just turned out to be 2 food jars buried like 5 inches with the old lids still on them. ::)

Thats what I though to old food jars buried but Im not giving up yet.

nice job on the 1915 wheatie! That yard has potiential for sure! :)

Canning jar lids have to have a tight seal and homemakers went through alot of them in the preserving process. So, lids went into the burn barrel or trash dump in large quantities. Even houses, like mine, built in the 60's have yards loaded with them. Unfortunately no caches, just lids.
