Joined a group doing an archaeological survey on an old farmstead in Des Moines yesterday.
We worked primarily on (in) the old privy and another unknown structure which was probably some
sort of out building. Here's a portion of what was found. The piece of machinery on the left
looks to be a piece of a belt driven wheel. Any farm people out there that know what it is for sure?
It would date from the early 1900's.
