Old foundation Finds

I went out for awhile today and hit two old stone foundations that were side by side. I found alot of broken cork top bottles and broken stoneware. I think I found the main dump but I didn't have the right digging tools to get serious. I did find a old lipstick container about 8 inches deep. Does anyone know what time period it is. Looks like it is made of brass.

I can just see them now, they guys sitting around playing the harmonica while the ladies are applying their lipstick! Nice finds,

Great looking finds. I found a lipstick like that in the past, so I would be interetsed how old, too.

I've found several of those lipstick tubes at the old school I used to detect at. It stopped being a high school in the mid 50's, and went to being an elementary when the new high school was built. I would imagine that no elementary girls would have been allowed to wear make up.

I would say 1930's-1950's was the span of their popularity, as that was the span of the high school years there, although they could pre-date the 30's. My parents are in their early 60's and remember them from their youth, so they were still around in the late 50's to early 60's.
