Old Foundation finds

Found these with my son yesterday. Iron signals all over the place. lots of sq.nails, this flag holder/bottle opener thing, clothes hanger hook, some other junk. It at least tells me the place hasn't been hunted.

Keep at it you just have to clean out that kind of stuff to get the goodies.

Don't you love finding a place that has never been hunted? If you clean it out, I am sure that you will find some keepers among the trash...Good luck.

What vdi # do you get on the old nails
My detector gives me a strong penney signal on old square nails and nutten on the newer nails.

Excellent, that could be a great place to make some good finds. Just keep cleaning out all the crap. When you get tired of all the crap do like I do and move farther away from the cellar hole and out where the gardens were; less junk and usually some buttons and coins. Good luck out there.

I was getting penny/dime readings. Sometimes .25 readings too. Always came up nails. Usually more than one per hole.

I'll try to remember to bring the camera next time to show what the foundation looks like.
