Old Hercules powder Co piece

Found this last week while looking in a farm field where a school was at in the 1880's.
it was bent pretty bad so I annealed it with a torch before attempting and flattening.
Kinda cool .

Hercules had a plant here in Port Ewen, NY---they sold it to Ireco, then it became Dyno Nobel. now closed______over & dunwit.

Finally tracked it down . It's was a WW1 workman's badge from the explosives plant .

That explains the pin mounting ears that were flattened.
How it got to north west Mo is another story.

they gave 10K & 14K GOLD service pins to employees up until the '70's. security says no trespassing around the parking lots. bet there's a bunch of lost gold there
