Yesterday at the machine shop were my dad (and now me too) works, an older man came in that my dad had worked with for years.
He had with him an old locked box that he could not get open, and he figured with all the band saws and drills we had there, we could find a
way in ;D
He also said the box has most likely not been opened in over 60 years.

Think for a second what might be in there while I make the next post........

Your very special post reminds me that...

...we don't make things today like they once did.

That watch chain is the most beautiful and unique chain I have ever laid my eyes upon! Thank you so much for taking so much of your time to share these special treasures with us.

As expensive as they would be to purchase on today's market, I'm most certain that they are absolutely PRICELESS to the owner!

I would give just about anything to own a watch or something of this caliber of my great grandfathers' or even HIS father.

What a special, special treasure. Thanks so much, again for the most excellent presentation. Your photography is excellent too, by the way.

This is the kind of stuff we'd all like to find in the attic of an old house or buried in an old forgotten yard of yesteryear.

Thanks for the special gift you have given us today.

What a great box full of goodies!!!! Wish I could dig something like that up.........or open one for somebody! Thanks for sharing. :)

Reminds me of the type of stuff in my Grandfathers dresser drawer. Great story even greater finds.

Great things inside that box, things like that I use to see in my grandmothers dresser too!

Very cool. Thanks for the post. Ron

Just an update we returned the contents of the box to him today.
He did not want the lockbox so I think I will hold on to it.
It still locks. Perhaps someday I will bury some loot in it.

wow! very cool! i have an old stamp book that ends in 1976 and stamps were 13 cents then. so i would guess 78 maybe.

I like that lock. We probably have a key to fit that box.
