Old Maps ?

I have so many old maps its not funny. From the early 1800's on. my ? is this on all of these maps there are never any parks or groves indicated, just property owners. Is there a certain type of map that shows these? Don't see any thing on plats or topo's.

On that map the one park I am aware of is called commons, but the sign in the park says est 1911, the map pre dates that.
