Old Newspaper

Hello Everyone,
I have been lurking for awhile on this forum and finally found something to share. I found this paper in the wall of a house I was remodeling a fews years ago. I re-discovered it today in a box I was cleaning out and thought some of you would like to see it. See "Mug Shots" for an intro of my wife & I.

"French Fried Prawns" 85 cents! Where do they get off charging prices like that! LOL!!

Nice Find. Those things are great to look at and remember the days.

I just watched the movie "For Heavens Sake".

Good movie.

That is completely awesome. I can't tell you how much I like to see old newspapers. Finding them is like finding a time capsule. You really do get a feel of what life was like back then..
I have found bits and pieces of early 1900's newspapers in walls too, though nothing as good a shape as yours. Apparently people would patch their plaster walls by stuffing the hole with newspaper and then plastering over it. As a contractor I would find them while tearing up walls and it always blew me away to read them...
Thanks for showing.

Harry.

Nice. Paper is in good shape considering its age. Some very interesting advertisements there.

The good ole days.

Thanks for sharing.

Steve,
Are you in San Jose? We moved from there 16 years ago. My wife just flew out there today on business.

Hi -MM-,
Not in SJ. Near Truckee. The closest I get to SJ is during BBall season when we see an A's or Giants game. This is a great forum, really enjoy seeing what others have found and are really jonesing to get out and find some stuff.

I know Truckee well. We stopped there many times on the way to make a "deposit" in Reno or Tahoe.

You must LOVE the snow.
