Old Permission - Cap Badge/Dump Field - Day 1 - Lots of digs...

With the wind chill it was just below freezing today which is perfect weather for rapid digging on a dump area that has 3 signal per swing. We already had Field 1 locked down yesterday, but I wanted a change of pace, as I was on my own & wanted to try for a new Cap Badge for the collection.
You need to dig over 20 pieces of trash for every keeper, & it felt like the old days;

It's surprising how much has turned up & I did manage my aim.
4.5 hrs (solo);

1 Scrappy
5 Livery Buttons (3 are the same & probably came from the same servants uniform)
Silver 3 Pence of Victoria
Many of the finds were Shoulder/Lapel Badges but I did get my first;

WWI 5th Nelson Battalion The Royal Naval Division Brass Cap Badge​

Anyone know about the National Society Badge 1920 & the CANADA?

I’m guessing the Notts & Derby piece refers to the transportation company.
However they were founded in 1986.
The badge looks older than that.

Interesting assortment of finds Cru'... you've been doing this for so long that you know the average of digs for one keeper.... I'm guessing the glass plug bits , top pic, were surface finds? Sounds cold there just like here....it could be worse... Iowa was hitting -35 Farenheit...

These are ploughed fields that were too wet to drill Winter crops, so they are waiting for them to dry out in the Spring (if they do)
