Old School House

Did a little detecting at an old school house today. Didn't find anything worth noting but did have fun. The old one room school house was last used in the 20s and is long gone. Plan on going back when the weather cools down. Did dig up a lot of trash. The last piece was a chunk of sheet lead.

Plan on going back later in the year when it cools down. With all of the trash I'm hoping it has not been searched. No road to it so I bushwhacked to it in the middle of the woods. But you never know.

The one-roomer's here have been detected to death. One school had a guy and his son detect it every day for over a week - my favorite sites are the "invisible schoolhouses" that are just empty lots, and disappeared years ago, a lot less hunting pressure on those.

There were 12 old 1 roomers in my town--5 are occupied-rebuilt etc-7 are gone // I can locate all 12 and have lightly detected 3-4 with nothing to show for the effort. I hope to do 2-3 more this Fall// Perry

1 room school houses have never been that good for me, for coin-finds. Even ones we know for a fact we're hitting virgin, will scarcely have a single coin at them. Unless they were concurrently also used for some adult activity. Like doubling as a grange hall, church, meeting room, etc.....
