Not exactly what I have been hoping to find (still waiting on my first gold or silver), but a good sign that the area hasn't seen much detecting.... Before the park was a park, it was a private sportsman's club. Near where the club house is rumored to have stood, I have found 4 old shotgun shells - 2 Rem-UMC No 12 Arrow and 2 Winchester No 12 Leader. The Winchester's were manufactured between 1930 and 1933, and the Remington's 1915-1942. All 4 were in pretty rough shape, but I saved the head of of the best of each type. No I just need to hope they dropped some change and I'll be in business...

That is the site I have been using as well as the regular-old google search.

Here are a few more I've found... They bring the date of things up a bit, but I'm still happy to find them!!

Old shotgun shells are on my Bucket List.:coffee2:

Just let me know the next time you are in Colorado Sandman... :tongue3:

I just pulled 6 more today, I'll post some pics soon...

Edit - And here they are... But first, does anyone have a good side for rifle and handgun cartridges?? I've been using the TurtleFoot website for shotgun shells, but haven't found something comparable for rifles and handguns.

I think Sandman was being a " But Head" .
Keep up the interest , I been saving all mine for a few years now.

All the Shotgun Shells 'Head's' we find are a Testimate To the Shotguns Role In American History.
'Along with the 22 rim-fires .'
