Found this today at a farm sale while digging through a box of items, it has a name L Mcoy or J Mcoy or Meoy not sure and a date of 1863, it also has a nice eagle engraved in the back. It is kinda moldy but I thought it was cool. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before. Sorry for the pictures they're not the greatest.




 

I like it. Maybe some old tramp art traded for a meal. Perhaps some value...
 

My friend thinks its a Artillery eagle, looking at some civil war artillery buttons I think he is right. He also thinks the 16 on the spoon above the eagle might stand for the 16th Artillery regiment from NY, since I got this in NY I think I maybe on to something.

Nope not yet, I tried looking up the name on it with no success but the eagle definitely looks pretty close to this

This spoon is really cool and it could be a good antique collection and the designs are still visible. It's time to put it in auction.

I just placed it on Ebay, I put it up for $10.00 so I will let you know how I make out.
