Well went out to my trusty old union campy today with the new cibola and found some real nice stuff that me and the family have missed over the years. Found a real nice rifle bullet, a smushed tear drop bullet, some camp lead, a copper whats-it and a small copper piece, also found two nice dropped round balls, and the heart breaker of the day;( I found my first coin out there in fifteen years of detecting only to lose it somewhere out there. Before I lost it I was able to see it was a 1840 large cent. I felt like crying when I lost it. I'm gonna have to go back and regrid. Found lots of iron pot pieces and square nails and several horseshoes but didn't want to bring inside in fear wife would kill me. Oh also found this sweet knife out there with it all.

Looks like you had a nice day with your new machine. I would have cried too if I lost the large cent. Hope you find it soon.

I am hoping to go back out tomorrow and look for it. I think I was more upset that it was the only coin that has ever been found out there.

Civil war sometimes when you place a find were it is supposed to go it will go in a creese of the pouch,a false pocket,or placing it in another area of clothing to keep it from scratching,Or it goes in the trash section and into the trash, behind into another section behind were you think you put it,it could fall in secondary pockets,etc....You have to really examine, and think hard.It happens,no big deal, there is a chance you will find it.It has happened to me plenty,we lose stuff too.You did good. :-! :O ;-)
