OMG!!! Am I a redneck??

OK, so I go over to my buddy Tims (GoldSniffinDog), we're hangin out in his garage this weekend & we happen to be drinking. ::)

He's had several fiberglass hood scoops hangin from his rafters for years & I've always liked one in particular. I took it down & went outside, layed it on the hood of my 86' 4x4 Suburban. We're pretty buzzed out & damn if that thing didnt look so cool on there. So my buddy says "Lets do it!!!" :icon_thumright:

Turned out cool for a couple drunks in a garage, bet the neighbors thought we were nuts sanding at 2AM. Then it hit me..........OMG Am I a REDNECK?? Does a "normal" person put a shaker scoop on a 4x4 'burban at 2am? Maybe I've been in Idaho too long, maybe its a long dormant gene that has only recently come to the surface. I gotta stop drinkin'.............. :wink:

I lived in Long Beach for 17 years. I was raised in a tiny lil mountain town, moved to L.A. & never felt quite right. All my friends teased me bout being a "country bumpkin", my cousin called me "Bigfoot" for years cause Im big & I came outa the mountains. I take it all in stride, Im proud, its all good! UH OH..........the Coors Light 400 is bout to start! YEEHAW!!! :icon_thumleft:

As defined in Playboy magazine some 30-ish years ago, a Redneck is not something one can strive to be.... The very act of attempting or trying immediately disqualifies you. The key is that it is a state of existence that one must simply arrive at; any deliberate attempt to act the part crosses you off the list.

Given the fact that you apparently had the awakening after installing the hood scoop at 0200 hours , the inhibition diluting aid of a few brewskies notwithstanding, I suspect that buried deep down inside you is a dyed-in-the-wool, tried-and-true Redneck just a hankerin' to be released.......................

Best of luck reconciling with your new-found self-realization. It really isn't a bad thing.

looks redneck to me, except, now you got to paint it camo, rims too. that way you can "blend" at the
drinking hole. I'll be the one driving the old jeep pickup, painted a kind of flat black with a black and tan
