After gladly accepting an invite to go detecting, I charged up the Nokta Impact and waited for morning. My friend Doug picked me up around 7am, the weather was cool and damp but nice for detecting. Like all detectorists on the ride we talked about how cool it would be to find a nice Fugio cent or maybe a George Washington button. We decided to go to a cellar hole that has been hunted many times by myself and others. Doug makes the first find with a pewter button. After finding nothing but square nails and shotgun shells, I get a solid 82 on the Impact. When i pinpointed it i thought it was can it was so loud. Reading 5 inches deep i cut a good size plug. I flipped the plug and saw the shank of a button. I thought cool a dandy button. When i turned it over i couldn't believe what i found. I found a GW button. It took a minute to realize what it was, but sure enough i had found one. A detectorists dream come true. Thanks for looking.HH
