Some of the best dialogue like...ever!
Witty and funny.

Watched the first season on Netflix, the second season on Dailymotion.
The end of the last episode of season one freaked me out, the end of the last episode season two also made me tear up a bit.

Tons of great quotes scattered all througout, my favorite below...

"You're one of us now....Just need some camouflage.
~ Why do detectorists wear camouflage?
To hide from predators.
~ Of course."

Scripts from all episodes here.

If you've watched it once, it's worth watching again. There are so many in-jokes that many non-detectorists will miss, and yet enough outright satire that everybody gets to appeal to all. I do love the very real passion showed by the characters in the series for the hobby, while it pokes gentle fun at so many facets of it.

Mackenzie Crook (the main character - also the pirate with the wooden eye in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies) is a true metal detectorist "in real life"

Somewhere I came across an interview with him, and that's when I hunted down the series. Likely member John Winter's blog site.

The episodes used to be available on Crook's YouTube page but it has been cleared off since.

Have y'all seen this ? I think this is so good ! They don't diminish the hobby (addiction) they use really good gear ! Clearly they actually know how to do it properly too , I just find the dialogue and relationships really funny !!!

My favorite show. My wife, who gave me crap about detecting, watched every episode and loved it. They teared up at the final episode of the season. Oh yeah! First gold baby!!

Becky: Sorry I poured three pints of strong European lager over you last time we met. It was an accident.
Sophie: That's OK. Happens all the time.
Andy: Er... what are you drinking. Sophie, a pint?
Sophie: Three, please.
