Just thought I would share my latest finds.... Found an old house dating probably to 1910 with two old men living in it.... I offered to mow the weeds if they would let me hunt the front yard. They proceed to tell me that I will not find anything because back in 1985 they removed buckets of dirt from the basement and put it in the front yard..... And the dirt in the front yard is definately un-naturally higher.... Anyway, 40 minutes of mowing and 2-1/2 hours of hunting later, I found several wheat pennies, 1948-s, 1952, 1945 and finally only 1 inch deep, on the top of that dirt from the basement I found a 1915-D wheat, and within a foot also about 1 inch was a real nice 1916 Barber Dime.... Not rare but in pretty good shape. Any day I find a barber is a good one! Wonder if they will let me hunt the basement?? Might find Jimmy Hoffa down there.

hey, nice coins. i say go for the basement! isn't it just an invitation when they say you won't find anything? keep swingin'! gf2 in texas

that barber is awesome shape!

Nice Barber dime.

Just think the Barber dime was protected from the elements up until 20 years ago. Great find...I love digging those Barbers. Depending on how much they dug out of the basement I would stick to the front lawn. if the dug out a foot or more I doubt there is anything old left in the basement.

Congrats!!
