Well I never got skunked in the coin dept., one half cent 1864, better than no half cent.

Pretty sure that is a trigger guard, off what, I've no idea.

Happy with the decorated button, and the rusty one also has design, but you can't see in the picture. The second whistle I found this year. The lead seal is another of the same, wish I could get a different one. Oh well take what you get I guess.

We sure need some rain in the worst way, might have to quit digging for awhile. I resorted to using a knife, lesche tool on this dig.

Nice find Rick. I agree on the trigger guard. A pistol would be my guess.

Nice finds.. Anyday with a gund part and an old coin is a good day.. Congrats..

Got yourself a couple nice relics in the trigger guard and the fancy button!

Nice finds! Sure is beautiful up your way! You are right, I only get out to "dig" after a good rain. The ground is like cement and it's hard to properly refill the holes! :( Congratulations on your finds!

Nice assortment of finds, and a little rain would be good.

nice finds congrats HH

The guard is cool, the whistle is a good finds as well, pretty early one!

Nice variety of finds Rick. I really like the button. I have found several flat buttons, but they all have plain fronts. That whistle is also a great find. Way to go!

Well thanks CRU, and don't fret; too bad MD49 I find hundreds of buttons per year and most are plain jane. So anything out of the ordinary is a good find in my book. Keep diggin my friend. They will come.

??? I think you quoted the wrong dude...

Good hunt, Rick! Looks like a trigger guard to me as well! :)

I agree with you on the rain. I got out today for a bit and it was tough digging. Dan says hi.

The find of the hunt is for certain the whistle. Often these are categorized as "pewter military whistles" and often sell for around $200.00.

Regards,

Buck

I like that half cent! Is that Canadian, or provincial?

yeah two in one there, the second part meant for MetDet49

WTG Rick! Does the whistle still work? I have yet to find a 1/2 cent.
