One Ice-Fishin Hut

Gonna have to catch this guy when he's in there...see if "they're bite'n"..and how thick the Ice is! He's still close to shore, maybe 50 yards out/8-10 ft. of water.. and close to our longest dock (about 250-300 yards) to it's point.

Yeah, it's a homemade hut so guarantee he's got heat set-up too. He has company (across the Bay) w/binoculars I can see a halfdozen more huts out on the ice. This ain't no small lake old digger It's at least a 6-7 hr. drive to skirt Georgian Bay! Heh heh.

Brings back a lot of memories of Wisconsin. My step-grandpa had an old car with a lot of backseat room. He removed the back seat and put a small, wood burning, Franklin stove back there and piped it out the roof of the car. He'd drive us out onto the lake where we would chisel holes in the ice and set out short, tip-up fishing poles. Stayed toasty in the car while we watch the tip-ups for bites. Now they use gas-powered augers to drill the holes......................sissys!

Heh, heh! Brillant idea PB,'the good old days'..with "Half" the laws & redtape as today, and common sense/compromising...was natural! Still just use my old 'arm-powered' auger too
