Hey gang, had an hour to kill this afternoon, figured Id give my old standby field a go. Things were going pretty slow with nothing but a hunk of lead and a flat button to show. I have pounded this field so many times, and just when I was begining to think I must have got it all something else pops up. I was about ready to leave when I got a pretty decnt signal, I say pretty decent cause there was iron in the hole with the coin and the coin was just slightly on edge. Out pops a 1723 Geo I. My first of this kind. Really happy the reverse was in great shape and the date held up. One more copper for 2010, there talking a snow storm coming and I know the ground will be freezing up, going to be a long winter.

Nice coin great find :icon_thumleft: no snow here yet but soon i guess Good hunt  Jim

Thanks Jim. Dont say the S word too loud. Or we will need a backhoe to get us out. :o

Nice find! King George I usually have readable dates because of the high rim around the coin, and I am thankful for that :hello2: I think 1723 was a pretty common date, as I have more of that date (3) than any other of my KG I's.

Congrats on another first, they are comming close together.

We have been quite lucky avoiding winter's blanket...so far.

Getting back there pretty good with George I! :headbang:

Nice !! I would dance a jig if I dug that one ! You guys and your one more copper for the year posts are telling me to get out there and find another one for ME :D Maybe even a whole coin this time.

I am going deer hunting in the morning with a friend and his boy. We are expecting snow too, starting around midnight.
