One nice Elora today

As most know I haven’t been able to get out for the last few months. I’m feeling better now and felt like walking a creek. 3 hours later I was thinking I wasn’t going to find anything worth posting. I actually walked past this one once but saw it on the 2nd pass. My next sentence was I sure hope it’s whole and possibly a scraper. When I pulled it I was pleased to see it was whole and was a point. I believe it to be a Elora around 4500 years old Late Archaic.

See how tall the banks are? A couple times the creek will actually go over the banks and flood the fields.

Very nice find! I love the flaking on it. I am glad you were able to get back out for a hunt. I might check my creek tomorrow, it's been way to hot to hunt but i'm eager to find something soon.

Have to go early. I was up at dawn and back home by 11am. I walked the section I have permission to walk then still came back soaked with sweat. Thanks

Nice going on the recovery of the point.

I wish we had a few creek systems as your photo. It seems every creek is on a controlled river system. High slow moving water that look like filled drainage ditches.

I wish we had a few creek systems as your photo. It seems every creek is on a controlled river system. High slow moving water that look like filled drainage ditches.

All the creeks I hunt empty into the rivers. The closer you get to the river the faster the currents on high flow which creates gravel and with any luck a fallen tree across the creek as the water travels across it the flow will create a huge gravel bar. One creek I have to call the river flow to see if it’s turned off so I can walk it. The other creeks I walk those sections are a mile or further upstream from the river so I don’t have to worry
