I’m unsure what your reply to my comment is supposed to convey, can you elaborate more on why you think that piece is unaltered by man?

Maybe your right about saw on the side of the wood. It's the way I found the Wilderness Doberman Pinscher, you can tell its all wood grain and knots that formed the Doberman Pinscher. Nature took It's course and maybe someone took the saw to it long time ago. What I do know that nature formed the Doberman Pinscher in the wood & I have it for everyone can see if they want to.

You might be right about the straight edge, but the nature formed the Wilderness Doberman Pinscher with wood grains and knots, that's priceless one-of-a-kind, rare treasure that No other will own. I have it to show others that nature could hide treasures too. It's getting well known just for a little time I've showed it. Any body can see it live if they want.

Thank you robertk.Is there a way I can find out how old this wilderness Doberman Pinscher is? Maybe who can tell me how old it is? If the wilderness Doberman Pinscher is 100+ years old which trees are old, how much you think it's worth?

As a retired wood scientist and technologist, I can see some characteristics of the wood in the photo. It is a softwood with pronounced latewood and what appears to be large resin canals. If these observations are correct, it is a hard pine. If the resin canals are small, it might be Douglas fir. The dark layers on each edge of the face are sapwood that has had dark material infused into it, perhaps from being under water. The bright wood on the face is heartwood which, from its new appearance, suggests that it is resistant to the infusion that darkened the sapwood. The annual rings appear to be fairly far apart gauging by their appearance on the surface. There may be 10 or 20 of them across the piece and that would be the approximate age of the tree when it died. It is impossible to tell how long after death until the piece was rip sawed out, exposing the surface being viewed. The viewed surface has not been exposed to the weather.

Thank you for your expertise on the Wilderness Doberman Pinscher,it gives me some in site of the wood sculpture. I'm willing to have anyone look at it to maybe get proximity of the age of the wilderness Doberman Pinscher. It would be nice to know the proximity of age of the hidden treasure. What's fake about it? It's a real piece of wood, at last as far as I can tell. But, to me at least, it doesn't look anything like a Doberman, it clearly is not natural (appears to have saw cuts on three sides), and the markings look like it got ran over by something. (They don't look like bullet holes to me -- too regular and repeating.)
