🔎 UNIDENTIFIED One of the neatest rocks I’ve ever found

Found this in southern VT. Pretty sure it contains black tourmaline. You can see one separate crystal in on pic. And supposedly there’s aquamarine in this stream. Might be some inside this rock? I went for a ten minute walk up and downstream maybe 75-100 yards and saw 5-6 more rocks like this one.

That's nice. You obviously found one of the many cool pegmatites in Virginia. It does look like you have quite a bit of Schorl Tourmaline exposed on the surfaces.

Schorl isn't rare and doesn't have any particular value beyond being a pretty black crystal but it is an indicator of nice mineralization. Keep looking and you might just find some beryl aquamarine.

Is this in SW Vermont?
