One Toke over the line, Lawerence Welk Show, lmao

The way Lawrence Welk was clearing his throat in the beginning, I'd say he had one toke over the line himself! :laughing7:

I wonder if anyone had a clue what they were singing about?

What I don't understand is how can you have "one toke over the line" with that weak, 1960's homegrown pot?

You would need a truck load to match the weed you get nowadays! :tongue3:

Catchy tune!

that's pure gold!

...and now Bobby Burgess is gonna play PURPLE HAZE-ah vun, ah two...

:tongue3: I think the reason they did it was the only words they heard were "sweet jeasus" & thought religious song :tongue3:

Quote;[h=1]Brewer And Shipley[/h] The Vice President of the United States, Spiro Agnew, named us personally as a subversive to American youth, but at exactly the same time Lawrence Welk performed the crazy thing and introduced it as a gospel song. That shows how absurd it really is. Of course, we got more publicity than we could have paid for

anyway I like the original better
