no, but if you can get a supply bank, that's a bonus!!! Unless- they use a different supplier than the other area banks, give it a try, you have nothing to lose except gas to get to the bank

You'd be bettter off getting customer rolls in a small town. The machine rolls all come from the city

I beg to differ, My son and I love to visit our cabin in Northern MI, which is about 7 miles from the "Happy Bank" (we have always left this bank happy, see photo below) They roll their own halves. We have never failed to score when we get "Happy Bank" rolls. This bank has about 6 branches. When we get halves they are machine rolled and have the Happy Banks name printed on them.

I think it would be a good strategy to find small independent banks that roll their own. Their coins do get sent to Brinks. Strings or elsewhere.

Good luck to you all, next time we head up there I will call ahead to see what I can get.

Here is my two cents,

I buy every blue moon 6 boxes from a country bank about 45 miles from my home. They always produce (at least a few silvers). Last shot I had 9-1964s & 17-40%. It is just luck of the draw.

Here's a hint. Go to a small town (local not big chain) bank and ask for Silver Eagles. I got 2 rolls at $640 each last week doing this.

As some have researched it has more to do with where they get their coins from, an out of the way bank may have a different supplier

Tanner and I were able to visit the "Happy Bank" in Northern MI over 250 miles from home this past week. They have about 5 branches and roll their own coins. My mother in-law has been banking with them for over 50 years so I had her put in an order for $500 in halves. They said they them and would hold them at the main office. While at our cabin I visited a small branch office, the teller said they had halves but were holding them for business in town. Last time I was their she only sold me $20. That is why I had my mother in-law place an order with the main branch.

The Results. I was able to get $500 in "Happy Bank" rolls. Tanner and I found 3 90% and 2 40% about $63.92 at today's spot price. ( I did fill my cars gas tank up for $71 on the way home from the cabin). We have never failed to score at this bank. If you can find a bank that rolls their own, it by passes Brinks and Strings. I think this can up your AU average.
