Here OV I'll show you here since I can't send pics in PM.... Never mind the mess in the background, I just moved stuff to the garage out of storage, there is crap everywhere!!!

I got pretty far on the cabinet, a few minor mistakes but nothing major.

HS back box mount 013.JPG

This is the mount that holds the top on. I'm doing this with a , circular saw, old router, and a miter saw. So, it's taking me a long time compared to if I had the right tools, my circular saw is flimsy, the plate flexes. SOOOO...I'm extremely happy an shocked that it's coming out this good so far!!! Once it's sanded, a little more glue, and primered it will be ok. This is my first real wood project. This big anyhow. I've done molding and wood floors, but this is the most complicated.

You have to use good tools. You can't compromise on that.
But... I don't understand what you are trying to make/copy?

Pinball Cabinet. I'm going to try to restore it from the ground up! :laughing7: High Speed is the name of it. It was tore into to get the coin box when it was routed. So, instead of repairing the old cabinet, I thought I would try to build one.

As with restorations... save all the original stuff you can!
You can use it... or make new chit.... if you have the original cabinet.

I have the original, but it's in real bad shape. I'm copying it as close as I can. The old is trash, it would have been way toooooooo much work to save and make it look good again. The one side was full of bondo, backed with sheet metal inside. It was a horrible job. The front was busted off. etc.... I want it nice so I started all over with new wood.

Here's the only pic of the old right now. This was after I took the bondo out. You can see where they tore into it to get the money box. The pic really doesn't show all of the damage. The whole side was cracked an warped.

I haven't seen a pinball machine around here for years. They will escalate in price...like guitars.
Keep 'em.
Save 'em
Don't get rid of 'em!!!

I say let's get Jason, you and I all together in my shop and let's build the first totally wooden one! We'll put a fake metal plate on the bottom "Viking Machine Works - 1857" and sell it! Us other two will swear to it.
