Take time from prospecting and smell the flowers! Hope you enjoy these beautiful Desert Cactus taken this spring in Orogrande, NM. Hills are covered with old shafts both vertical and horizontal, (but don't explore them). Minerals everywhere, pyrite, garnet, turquoise, Cu, Au, As! Hope you enjoy and HH! Oro

Great shots of the desert scenes.
I traveled through a couple of years ago, but didn't have
much time to explore.
We did stop at 'Rockhound' State park for a while, &
bought a few 'geodes'.

Nice pics. aa

Those are great pics, we do not see anything like that here in New England.

Oro....those are some great pics. It just goes to show there is some colorful beauty in the desert if one open's their eyes!

awesome pics you ever try looking for indian artifacts there?

I do have the prickly pear cacti in my yard, in fact that where the yellow jacket nest was...got stung 3 times before I was able to escape. The other cacti pictured are simply beautiful...love the desert southwest.

;) RR

Nice pictures! I thinks it's really cool that there is two different colored flowers on the same cacti! I wonder what causes that?

Thank you for sharing these lovely pics !! Cactus are one of my favorite flowering plant. Here you have something that looks untouchable, unapproachable even, and yet it produces something wonderful and colorful !!
