Saw this sticking out of the cedar tree a while back while detecting below the barn.
Looks like the cedar will have possession of this arrow for many more moons.

The quills are gone, so probably being an aluminum shaft it will be a bird perch for a longtime.

You could just cut the shaft off near the tree and the tree
will be fine.

It's healed up nicely so I'll just leave it be, good perch now for something. Maybe I'll hang a wind chime off of it.

No cutting required, tree is fine, healthy, it has a bit of character now.
Left alone it could be there for a century more.
