Oxen shoes and lead seal.

My hot spot keeps producing stunning artifacts. I had no idea that oxen were ever used in the area and had no idea oxen shoes are what I dug. I have dug horseshoes at the site and assumed these were just odd looking very old horseshoes. I also found another lead seal. I have dug about 7 lead seals at this site. I am going back tomorrow and going to try and find the other oxen shoes to complete the set. I am currently in an iron patch. This is the area I found the 1692 Scotish, William and Mary Copper Bawbee. Thanks for looking.

I agree with the seals. I initially didn't realize the historical value of these lead seals. I didn't even know what they were initially, so tossed a B & M seal in the recycling bin and gave it to the designated redemtion guy at my club meeting. I do have an image of it though. I am going to ask him if he still has it next week. I may be able to get it back.
Another great thing about this site is members help ID artifacts, which help put meaning to them.
