Panning close to CO Springs

I'm going to be in the Springs area for the last couple of weeks of August. Is anyplace close to pan/sluice?

I'm unaware of any pay to play sites "close" to Colorado Springs.

...6-7 hrs. of research on claims history, geology, land ownership, current claims, and access route/s might yield you a maybe hit but mostly miss spot in the Pike National Forest close to Colorado springs...

GPOC club is a non profit club out of Colorado Springs their yearly fee is dirt, dirt dirt, cheap...Supposedly they have a few claims...I'm not sure of their claims proximity to Colorado Springs...

GPAA...cheap to join...has a chapter out of Colorado Springs too...very limited on Colorado claims...I do believe they have a claim/s near Florissant Colorado which is 35 miles west of Colorado springs.

I lived in Florissant for a few years. Lots of Amazonite and pretty gems but I never saw any gold around there.
Maybe up the road on the Platte River?
