Panning for gold

I was wondering if anyone knows some good places to pan for gold in Southern Oregon?

I have heard that where Cow creek runs int the S Umpqua there are some good spots. If your near Grants Pass check out Armadillo Mining, they might be of some help.

Poverty flats off of dole road near myrtle creek is a popular spot. Also known as gravel pit diggins. To get there, cross the bridge into myrtle creek, then turn left up the hill. After crossing the railroad tracks, the entrance to the gravel bar is 1/4 to 1/2 mile on your left. Ray Charles could find gold there.
