Paper thin dime

I found this dime a few years ago and its really thin not to worn down but tarnished. If anyone has any ideal/info as to why/how I would appreciate it.
Date on dime is 1966. Is there a good way to clean it up.

I don't know and don't have a scale. I can get one but what kind would I need?

Do a search for Frankford Arsenal scale. There is one on Amazon for about $20.00

Just eaten away by corrosion. You should see some of the beach coins I find!
