No rain, no high 90's temperature and nice blue skies, so I headed out to a park that has a pair of soccer fields.
Using my White's M6 and the 4.5X7 Excelerator coil ( for the trash) I first hit the small playground area. Only getting a couple of pennies I walk over to the farthest soccer field. Searching along each side of the goals I was picking up some clad coins, then going in front of the goal I was getting mostly bottlecaps.
Walking to the center of the well played field, I start getting some clad coins. And after picking up a few pulltabs with a VDI of 24 and 35 the next VDI reading of 30 was interesting. Digging in the middle of the field at a depth of 4 inches out popped a nice color of ring. GOLD!!! I didn't bother to wipe it off or clean it..I just wrapped it in a piece of paper towel and put it in my coin pouch. Not getting much else for about 30 minutes, I start back to my car still swinging my M6.
Picking up a few more clad coins until I get to my car.
When I got home and cleaned off the dirt from the ring it sure looked nice..... but it is a 18K GE ( plated) with a CZ stone. Tested the stone 3 times with my diamond tester to make sure!!!!
Can't win them all!!!! :P :P

But I sure enjoyed my day.

Outstanding ring and some nice coin to go with it.

Pretty cool ring Robert. I don't have much luck or patience for the soccer fields. I've been doin pretty good outside of the woodchip playground areas at the schools. I got 71 coins at a couple of elementary schools Sat.

Keep safe...

Usually I don't hit the soccer fields but this one had so much wear on it the dirt was showing on over half of it.

Hoy are you doing with your M6???

Those are pretty good finds. I MD a field where soccer is played and it amazes me the number of bottle caps and tabs I find...sometimes wonder if they think it makes them play better or the ball is bigger! :-\

WOW! That's a super ring! If I found one like that, the wife would let me get a "back-up" detector pronto!

Around where I live, ALL the public parks are out-of-bounds (bummer) so I don't find too much jewelry.

Take care!

still a sweet looking ring.

Beautiful ring :)
and who knows...... maybe you saved some guys life , cause
the girl who lost it will never find out it wasn't a real diamond and
kill the guy who gave it to her ;D

The ring is about a size 12..with that size ring on a girls hand, I doubt if she is petite and dainty. :P :P

Sweet ring and nice pile of coins. Great pics too. Keep digging!

Way to go Dimeman, those soccer fields WILL pay off if you keep at em. I seem to find most rings about 20 to 30 feet out from the goals. Way to go!!!

Most parks here that have the soccer fields keep them nice and pretty.I usually don't detect them. These fields have less grass than dirt ( seems like it) and is the only reason I detected it, and I made sure I covered up the holes that I dug up.

This park has 2 fields and they are not kept up as well as they should, except for mowing.
Also shown is 1 of the 7 or 8 picnic tables in this particular park. Notice under the bench hasn't been weed-whacked in awhile.

That's a pretty rough looking field. The ones I do are pretty well kept up, and I only dig targets that my pinpointer will detect. The only times I will go deeper is if it is a quarter signal, and that's because it could be a ring. Most of the time I only pry the target out, if I have to dig I am very carefull not to leave any damage to the field. I would say that most targets I recover are 3" or less. I only do them during the week, early in the morning when no one is using them. That way there is less chance of some one giving you any flack.

She's a pretty ring anyway, a great find.
Hate those heartbreakers huh ;)
Hope the next is the real thing, good luck!

Smiles!
