Part of a sword?

[mattgaudian]

I've just started water hunting the local lake in the last couple of weeks and have found some junk rings and some old parts to watches and machines. Yesterday I found this brass object that looks like a piece to a sword. Anyone know anything about it?

[Zee]

Crazy find for MN. Just goes to show any item from any time period can pop up anywhere!

A closeup of the inside and the number 23. Looks like another stamp could be involved but probably my eyes playing a trick on me

That number is the bench number. Certainly from a sword. Great find!
