✅ SOLVED Part of saddle bag or Suspenders clip

Friend of mine dug this about two years ago with me near Ansted, West Virginia.. Was told it was part of a saddle bag or suspenders clip. Pre Civil War and Scottish design?

The item is the connecting end from an elastic strap, for clothing and garments. The style is late 19th century, to possibly even early 20th century. I've seen similar styles turn up in sites that dated 1880-1900.
