I found two pieces of a pocket watch on the site of what was an 1800's homestead. I found the bezel and the case body. They're gold plated. I searched the area but couldn't find the rest.

The case body has a serial number and I'm wondering if anything can be learned from that number without knowing the manufacturer. The serial number is 1380820.

I like the old watch parts. It look like it may be solid gold, but it not in my hand. Very nice. HH...

Nice watch! Hope it turns out to be solid gold!

Nice chunk of gold there!

Not sure about the date/manufacture, but generally the case will have a separate serial number then the movement. Mostly dates that you look up will only correspond to movements.

That's a cool find

Were there any numbers or any letters on it.

Just the serial number I mentioned, 1380820. Nothing else.

That number applies to the movement serial number. What I have is a case serial number. It's my understanding that the two are separate and generally aren't expected to match.
