Daughter and I got to check out an old church and a few local playgrounds this weekend. Daughter got the best find - a 1923 Peace Dollar. I got the most unusual find - a crack pipe at an old playground. Found a few odds and ends - a pendant, crushed bracelet, toy car, dice, etc. Besides the 1923 Peace Dollar at the church, we found 3 wheaties - a 40, 51D, and 57D. Also got a 1960D small date cent out of there. Clad count was good again this weekend totaling 243 plus 2 tokens.
136 pennies
5 nickels
48 dimes
53 quarters
1 Peace Dollar
2 tokens

Congrats to your daughter thats a find in a lifetime:-)

Yep Its what is refered to as a bowl. And if cleaned up and set on your mantle it is NOT illegal to possess. It is only illegal if it has pot residue in it or else you couldnt walk into any head shop in the country and buy it;-). Not worth the trouble though. Throw it in your brass pile and sell it for scrap;-) No reason throwing it away and geting nothing out of it lol

Just my two cents anyway....

P.S. wheres my pringles lol

Guys - thanks for the head up on the pipe. It in my brass box, no plans on cleaning it up and displaying it. As for the depth, i would say the hole was at least 8 inches deep when i walked over to it, but Florida has a Sandy soil and not condensed dirt. it may have been 9 or 10 deep. Its her best find and shes waiting for Grandpa to come visit Sunday so she can show it off. We have five playgrounds lined up for Saturday and Sunday morn, so we are hoping for another 200+ coin day.

Nice haul. Congrats to your daughter for finding the peace dollar.

As I started to read the post I said to my wife that ain't a crack pipe it's a pot pipe, as I read on I'am glade I'm not the only one to know the Pipes.

Congrats to your daughter on the beautiful silver! Lots of great finds. Keep digging!

Wow.....those are some awesome finds! Great clad count too! Your daughter is a little cutie and tell her I'm very jealous of her dollar! Congrats to you both and keep up the great work!!

No, no... your both wrong. That pipe is a very simple maryjane pipe that you can buy from any head shop. It'll take a 'standard bowl' full of pot, generally enough for two people. The clear plastic part can be used as a storage area. People will put extra pot in it, and as you smoke, the tar will get the 'storage' area all gummy with pot resin.

Haven't touched that junk since college. Made me have anxiety attacks. Thinking ever car I heard outside was the cops. My friend still does it, and he hasn't had a job in over 8 years. Lives at home with his grandma. Poor soul.

My advice? Through it away. It's bad karma and has only negative value.

Sorry to hijack your thread. Brought back some memories though.

no job for 8 years??? not hard to believe. the stuff was never known to give you much ambition. it makes me want to order a pizza just talking about it !!

NICE FINDS.people know alot about that pipe.i myself was stupid a few times i got kicked of the school bus long ago.we were hittin one of them pipes just like that.a colored kid told on us.we told the supervisor it was cigerette.met the kid after school he said when he kicks my butt i'll go crying to my dad.so i poped him in the mouth he went home crying.guess what happened next.he brought his daddy to my house.it did no good,my ex-stepdad is racist.i got in no trouble.sorry for the rambling it just brought back a memory.another time we were sitting in a underground house about 5 of us.well this older lady in a wheelchair that lived there was hitting a pipe just like that.well you know the 80's hair girls with lots of hairspray.well her hair was on fire she didnt know it.we were laughing then gary jumped up and put it out for her.she started to cry.then she slept with my friend scott.this is when we were 14.crazy days and crazy nights.

Nice find ... Silver Peace Dollar ... you don't see many of those being found ... congratz ~ Jimmy

Looks like you and your daughter had a Great Day, I wouldn't sell that Crack Pipe, nowadays it probably is Worth more than the Silver Dollar. LOL

It's great you have a hunting partner, does she have her own detector yet? The ACE 250 would be a Great detector for her!!!

Congrats to your daughter on the beautiful silver!
You both have to be pretty proud of that day!
As for the mary jane pipe, I would bet it is made of copper, you should be able to recycle the copper for scrap.
We have tubs in the garage with copper, aluminum and other recycleables we sort out through out the year.
last years scrap got us $104.18 in cash.
Again, congrads on an awesome day with your daughter!

It's probably brass unless someone really burnt made it. Copper puts off highly toxic fumes when heated and most pot heads know that or at least that's what they tell me.

Either way it's still best if put in the scrap pile.

Congrats on the other finds. I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to MD with me, then maybe I can get momma into it.
