Peach Tree Gone Crazy!

I have a peach tree that is producing WAAAAAAY too many peaches. I have, and I swear to this, removed at least 1200 peaches from this tree as they have been developing and I still have 7 limbs being supported with 2x4's due to the weight of the peaches still on the tree. I lost one small branch already. My son's peach trees did the same thing and he lost some big limbs. I wish they would hurry and ripen so I could get them ALL off the tree!

Makes me so sad. Just 2 days ago my peach tree had over 200 peaches on it all getting close to harvest. Today there is about 6. The darn squirrels have been eating well at my house. How do I stop them for next year?

>side note< they say to remove peaches so that there is only one every six inches max or a peach tree will produce so many peaches it will break all its limbs. Although 2x4's might help, your taking a big risk on killing the tree.

thank goodness I don't have a squirrel problem but I have had ants get into the stem area and access the peach. There are still hundreds of peaches left on this tree and they get bigger every day. I check it daily for any peaches that might get a bug hole or a bruise and thin those out. I think I'll be ok if it survives another couple days as I have found a few ripe ones.

We had peach trees when I was growing up, those look great! Peach preserves, cobbler, jelly, jams, pies, cakes, frozen, or fresh with a dab of mayo and chedder cheese...... yum yum yum! I love peaches!
