Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
In one regard, 2013 ended with my highest number of CW relics ever-506. The quality of relics was not as good as prior years without any plates or CS buttons but here are my favorites:
1857 Flying Eagle cent- This coin came from a U.S.C.T. (United States Colored Troops) site near Nashville where the troops were assigned garrison duty on an old CW railroad guarding a trestle. Our friend Tenn. Digger invited Dman and I to hunt that site with him.
Relics from U.S.C.T. railroad site-These relics were dug on two trips to that 1864 site. The RR spikes were used as tent pegs.
Eagle “I” Officer’s infantry button-This one had loads of gilt and came from a picket site.
Best carved bullet-Possibly a game piece-U.S. site.
Box of my relics (179) from U.S. site-We call this one the Williams Cleaner camp that we hunted December 6-13.

I was honored to be pictured on the cover of Western & Eastern Treasures Magazine for the 4th consecutive year. I had 2 articles published in W & E Treasures, 2 articles published in American Digger Magazine, and one article published in North South Trader’s Civil War Magazine.
Wishing you great finds in 2014 & watch for more articles to be published during the year, Quindy.
