Photo blocks ?

Does anyone know what these are called . I'm trying to find out how to clean them . I think they are for printing newspapers . They are engraved copper plates on plywood blocks . The first one is hard to see because it's so dirty, but it's a floor plan of a school . One is a group of girlscouts . And the other is a couple and their baby .

Yes , it is Phillips school in Maine
I got them at a garage sale last summer
