I do not know if some of you folks remember me posting about a local bank that copied my drivers license and said it was policy for large coin drop off. I was worried I was getting hit with a suspicious behavior report or something of the likes...
Well to get to the point...

My mother arrived at her work with a note on her desk from a local detective. Once they finally gets a hold of my mother they ask if she knows me. Of course she does, bc I am her son. They then tell her I am a lead in a coin theft and that the above local bank reported me to the authorities. She then explained what I do(CRH) and showed them the paper trail of the coins I had legally purchased(since most of them came from her branch.)

So far I havent heard anything from the police, so I guess I am all clear!

I am not sure if I should be insulted by the branch turning me in or what?

Well, I know that must be annoying as all get out, but a lawsuit would only bring you a lawyer bill.

It would only be slander if they had publicly said that you WERE a thief, and even then, lots of people get arrested and are let go, and they never get any
money from a court case.

The authorities call it "doing their jobs", and, let's face it - if they can kill somebody when they are in the wrong house with no warrant and get away with it - where do you think this would go?

I just wonder what the teller who called the police thinks that you keep going back to them. Like the police didn't take her call seriously if the teller just wanted you gone. It'd be even more embarrassing if you told them that the police informed you the teller at the bank called the police on you. I'd ask it in a form of a question. "Yeah, so the local police told me that you snitched on me for something I didn't do. Is that true?" I would love to see the teller's face when someone says that to them. LOL Even though the police are not allowed to tell anyone who the reporting party is. LOL
