Picked up some CWR

yesterday while getting my weekly skunk sammich (to go, BTW). Figured what the hay, can't go wrong with some dimes, cents, and a roll of nickels. Had to make an even $20.

Start with the dimes in the truck before pulling out of the parking lot. BINGO! Two shiny silver rims. WHAT?! QEII on the obverse. This can't be good. Some Eastern Caribbean Island something. Great, now I'm short 20 cents, too....... I put them back in their roll, search the other two and find nothing but clad. So I do the roll of nicks real quick, nothing. Saved the cents for today, and just ran them through the Ryedale. About 25% copper. I'll take it.

So I'm about to go for a dump (Watch out usandthem

) and I need to fix the short dime roll. I test them for length, and they're ALL THREE different lengths. Great, one of them is short, too!! I dump the long one, 52 dimes. Hmmm, that can't be right. A re-count verifies 52. Okay, roll it up with 50, and on to the next one. This one has 48. Plus two, now it's correct. Well, the last one must be short, so I dump it and it's got 50.

I guess whomever deposited the dimes didn't short them after all, but rolled up a couple of foreign coins to boot! BTW, I re-rolled each of the dime rolls as I searched them, so no coins were cross-rolled. The counts were off from the get-go.

Anybody collect foreign stuff?

Ramjet, those dimes were my dumps. I rolled them that way to give you somethin' to do. :tongue3:

Just kiddin'. I hang on to all of my foriegn coins. I keep them in an old sock. I'm jonesin' for pennies. My vault keeper has been out sick for the last two days.
