I'm GUESSING that it's a souvenir from Lincoln's State Historic Site in Illinois. Can you post a photo of the reverse?

Possibly a pendant or a keychain fob.

Here's a link to the website of the historic site. http://www.lincolnsnewsalem.com

Hey J B thanks for posting the photo of the reverse side.

The number 59 is significant. The wheat cent, which was made in honor of Abraham Lincoln and was first issued in 1909 (which was the centennial of his birthyear), was changed after 1959--the sesquicentennial (150) year of Lincoln's birth. So if the number represents 1859, it could represent his 50th year of age, if it represents 1959, it could represent the sesquicentennial of his birthyear and the discontinuation of the wheat on the reverse of the cent coin. I haven't read the entire webpage of the historic site, but it may be that 1959 is the year the site was established as a state park. You could email the photo to the historic site and see what they can tell you about it. It may turn out to be something sold by the New Salem Lincoln League at the Gift Shop on the property.
