Pin Fire Bullet

I dug this cartridge a few years back in a Civil War camp sight in Virginia. I always thought it fit a Civil War era Lefaucheux revolver. However, I read recently that the cartridges for those revolvers were not made of brass as this one appears to be. Anyone have any ideas?
